Advanced Paddock Tools in MyBallance

The new MyBallance map editor offers a suite of advanced tools to help you fine-tune paddock boundaries, split or merge paddocks, and even create pivot-based areas. This guide walks you through using these powerful features.

✏️ Fine-Tuning Boundaries

When editing a paddock:

  • Large points on the boundary let you move existing fence lines.

  • Small points allow you to add new boundary vertices, making it easy to follow complex features like rivers or terrain.

🧭 Snapping & Guides

  • Use the Snapping (Guides) Tool to toggle smart snapping to right angles or nearby features.

    • Turn OFF snapping for freehand adjustments.

    • Turn ON snapping for precise, aligned edits.

Click Save when you're happy with your changes.

➗ Splitting Paddocks with Fence Lines

To divide a paddock into two:

  1. Select the paddock you want to split.

  2. Choose “Add Fence Line”.

  3. Draw a line that starts and ends outside the paddock boundary.

🔍 The map will automatically:

  • Display the area sizes of each resulting section.

  • Allow you to adjust the fence line with the same tools used for paddocks.

  • Provide an “Apply Fence Line” button to confirm the split.

Each new paddock can then be edited independently.

🚨 Handling Overlaps

When creating or editing paddocks, you may accidentally create an overlap with an adjacent area.

  • The system will:

    • Highlight the conflicting area in red.

    • Display a warning message indicating which paddock will be adjusted.

  • When you click Save, the overlap is resolved by automatically trimming the adjacent paddock.

You can also reverse the process by editing the other paddock and dragging the boundary back—again, the system will handle the shape adjustment.

🔗 Combining Paddocks

Want to merge two paddocks into one?

  1. Select a paddock and choose “Combine Paddocks.”

  2. The selected paddock turns green; any adjacent paddocks will be highlighted in blue.

  3. Click on another blue-highlighted paddock to select it.

    • Note: Paddocks must share a fence line to be merged.

    • ❌ Paddocks separated by a road or gap cannot be combined.

  4. Click “Combine Selected” to merge them into a single paddock.

🌀 Creating Pivot-Based Paddocks

You can now create circular paddocks (ideal for pivot irrigators):

  1. Choose the “Create Pivot Paddock” tool.

  2. Click to set the center point, then drag outward to define the radius.

  3. Once saved, you can:

    • Edit the pivot paddock like any other.

    • Add fence lines to divide the circle into sections.

This is perfect for managing irrigated circles and converting them into usable paddocks.

💾 Saving and Syncing

  • Don’t forget to click Save after making edits.

  • All changes are automatically carried over to the classic map, so you can switch between views without losing data.
