Navigating the New Map in MyBallance
The enhanced MyBallance map includes powerful navigation tools to make managing your farm easier and more intuitive. This guide walks you through each navigation feature so you can confidently explore and edit your property maps.
🔍 Getting Started
When you open your map in MyBallance, you'll be greeted with a streamlined interface. Most navigation tools are conveniently located in the top-right and bottom corners of the screen.
🗂️ Layers Panel
Location: Top-Right Corner
Use the Layers Panel to show or hide various types of information on your map:

Paddocks
-
Blocks
-
Exclusion Zones
-
Labels (e.g., paddock names)
You can:

Toggle each layer on or off with a click.

Clean up your view by hiding unnecessary details.

Re-enable layers at any time.

Close the panel by clicking the “X” or the Layers icon again.
🏠 Return Home
Location: Top-Right Corner (2nd Button)
If you’ve panned around the map and want to reset to your original starting view, click the Return Home button. This returns you to your default zoom and map center.
🧭 Reset Compass
Location: Top-Right Corner (3rd Button)
You can rotate the map view by right-clicking and dragging your mouse. If the map becomes rotated:

Click Reset Compass to reorient the map to face North.

This action does not affect your zoom level, so you stay at your current scale.
🔎 Zooming In and Out
There are multiple ways to zoom:

Mouse Wheel: Scroll up to zoom in, down to zoom out.

Zoom Buttons: Use the + and - buttons in the bottom-right corner.
📏 Scale Bar
Location: Bottom-Right Corner
The Scale Bar helps you understand distances and sizes on the map. It's especially useful when drawing or editing paddocks.

🗺️ Switching the Base Map
Location: Bottom-Left Corner
Simplify the visual appearance of your map by changing the Base Map:

Click the Base Map toggle to switch between:

Aerial imagery (default)
-
Simple street map with labels

This is handy if your default imagery is too busy or unclear.
✏️ Editing Paddocks
There are two ways to begin editing a paddock:

Use the Edit Button
Click the paddock selection button, then choose a paddock from the list. -
Click Directly on a Paddock
Select a paddock on the map. A popup will appear—click Edit to begin.
This opens the editing interface where you can adjust boundaries, names, and more.
🔁 Switching Back to the Classic Map
If you need features not yet available in the new map:

Click the “Switch to Classic Map” button in the top-right corner.

Any changes made in the new map (e.g., paddock edits) will carry over to the classic map.
This ensures a smooth transition and no data loss between versions.
